More than a food pantry

Food Assistance for Military Families

It is estimated that more than 25% of active-duty military families and 10% of veteran families in our area need assistance with food.

The ASYMCA Fort Leonard Wood’s Food Assistance program will help to combat this issue in the community we serve by providing access to free supplemental food items and additional household items. This program will help military families worry less about food and focus on mission readiness.

To maintain the integrity and stock of our Food Pantry facility and complete our mission of staying ready to serve those with identified food-assistance needs in our community, we kindly ask our patrons to review and agree to the following stipulations:

  • A military ID and check-in are required upon arrival at the Food Pantry.Β  Any information collected is held completely confidential.
  • Registration for open pantry shop times will be required.Β  If patron is unable to register online before the pantry date, they must contact our office for assistance in properly completing registration.
  • Food collected from the Food Pantry is available for and to be used or consumed only by active-duty or eligible military-affiliated community members.
  • Food collected at the Food Pantry must not be regifted or redistributed.
  • Food collected is intended to bridge a current gap in needs until the patron can qualify for or receive additional federal food assistance or until their needs are met otherwise.

** Please note that emergency resources will be available for patrons on a limited appointment basis if there is an immediate need more than an open pantry shopping date can accommodate. **
