Bringing People Together

The ASYMCA Fort Leonard Wood hosts several events throughout the year designed to promote recognition, appreciation, or resiliency within our military community. These events often serve as a conduit of appreciation and education that links the civilian community with those who serve, ensuring an integrated community that enjoys a high level of support.

Our Events

Patriot Day Festival

Patriot Day Festival is an all-inclusive, community-wide gathering and family fun day that brings service members & families stationed at Fort Leonard Wood together with our surrounding communities. This event focuses on patriotism, music, fellowship, and community, as we remember the tragic events which took place on September 11, 2001. Our vision is to recognize service and sacrifice and to honor all that we hold dear as a community and country.

Field of Heroes

We present a field of flags, arranged in the style of Arlington National Cemetery. In observance of Veterans Day, we will have the flags placed in USO Chimney Park in St Robert, MO. This gives us an opportunity to honor all those we consider HEROES in our lives. All proper flag etiquette will be rendered, including having the field properly lit at night.

Father Daughter Dance

Daddy and Daughter—it's one of the strongest bonds in life—and this precious relationship is a powerful first exposure to self-esteem. It sets the scene for how they feel they should be treated, making fathers hugely important when it comes to their daughter's early self-worth. The Father Daughter Dance is an opportunity for fathers to spend precious time with their daughters, strengthen the father-daughter bond, and create memories that last a lifetime. Coming In April 2023!

Annual Duck Race

The Annual Duck Race is a "Fun" Raiser to support the Armed Services YMCA of Missouri. Organizations, businesses, military units, or individuals may sponsor a thoroughbred duck for the race. Sponsoring a thoroughbred racing duck helps the Armed Services YMCA fund life-changing youth programs that allow kids here in the Fort Leonard Wood area to learn, grow and thrive. When you sponsor a duck, you get a thoroughbred decoy duck to decorate and race down the Roubidoux River on Race Day.

Volunteers set up decorated decoy ducks in the river to see which duck will will the race
